By joining ECHOES, you will:

  • Participate in a European co-creation residency
  • Collaborate with international artists

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for artists who:

  • Work with music, sound art, electroacoustic, experimental, electronic, neoclassical, or interdisciplinary practices
  • Are interested in environmental sound and soundscape ecology
  • Are open to collaboration and collective authorship
  • Are ready to engage in a long-term artistic development process
  • Are available for residencies, rehearsals, and performances

This is not a competition for a finished piece — it is an invitation to enter a collaborative artistic journey.

What to Submit

Applicants must provide:

1. Online Application Form

Fully completed through the ECHOES platform.

2. Artist Biography

Maximum 1 page.

3. Portfolio

Audio and/or video links showcasing relevant artistic work.

4. Motivation & Artistic Concept Statement

One integrated written document including:

  • Artistic motivation related to soundscape ecology or sustainability
  • Interest in collaborative and transnational co-creation
  • A preliminary concept for an original composition
  • Intended sound materials and environmental references
  • An initial vision of how the work could contribute to the collective album

5. One Unreleased Musical Work

A piece representative of your artistic language.

The work:

  • Must not have been commercially released
  • Will be used exclusively for evaluation

Selection Process

Applications will go through:

  1. Eligibility and completeness check
  2. Artistic and conceptual evaluation
  3. Shortlisting
  4. Final selection by an independent committee

The selection committee includes project partners, established artists, and experts in sound-based practices and sustainability.

Applications will be evaluated equally on:

  • Artistic quality
  • Relevance to soundscape ecology
  • Alignment with sustainability values
  • Collaborative potential
  • Feasibility within the project framework

We aim for diversity in geography, gender balance, and artistic approaches.
